In 1220, Sir Ralph Gernon decided that the hamlet of Leez, in a dip by the banks of the River Ter, would provide the perfect location on which to found his monastery and his Augustinian priory thrived for over 300 years. When Sir Richard Rich became the Earl of Warwick, he built his own great house on the site that is now known as Leez Priory. In the years that followed, the mansion has been home to the Earls of Warwick and has been visited by Queen Elizabeth I, Princess Mary and many other nobles from the past. Winner of Wedding Ideas Magazine ‘Best Wedding Venue’ two years running (2007 & 2008), this magnificent Tudor mansion is one of the most sought after wedding venues in the country. Set in 40 acres of parkland, complete with lakes, lawns and a sweeping driveway, Leez Priory is simply stunning. Wedding Photography at Leez Priory is a joy for the Bride and Groom and their guests. By the lakes, in the Great Tudor Tower, in the Grand Hall and stunning gardens there are
countless perfect spots for the best wedding photographs in the land. No wonder the Beckhams married here!
